There were at least seven William McBrooms in the United States during the year 1785. That would be surprising, if it wasn’t for the fact that every other McBroom male in America is named William, James, John, or Thomas. What we lack in a prolific nature is challenged in degree only by our lack of imagination when it comes to naming our male offspring.

I’m currently looking for an ancestor named William McBroom. I’ve written a bit of a history on who he might be, and you can read that article by visiting this link.

It’s very frustrating, to say the least. If you’ve done any research on the McBrooms, then you know what I’m feeling right now, that old “impenetrable brick wall” feeling. The thing that keeps my spirits up is knowing that I’m not alone in my search, and there are other McBrooms just as interest as I am in finding this one ancestor.

The search continues!
